So, CentOS 5.4 has been released to mirrors and will be available soon as updates to your existing systems. This ends about 6 weeks of suspended security fixes, although some security fixes were released in the CentOS 5.3 repository before the actual 5.4 release was ready.

Most of what is new can be found from my earlier RHEL5.4 release blog post.

Enjoy!

Update: The mirrors are still not opened up yet, but you can find the ISO images torrent files from various locations.

Great News!

Thanks for the update Dag, this ends a long anticipated release.

Exciting times, I even added a how to on Creating a local CentOS 5.4 repository for YUM on my blog.

No official word of a release yet.

No official word of a release yet. How long do you think we will have to wait until we can download ISO's?

Apparently CentOS suffered

Apparently CentOS suffered some infrastructure problems and they restarted syncing their mirrors today. Don't ask me what exactly went wrong, there are no details made public that I know of. So here's hoping it is available tomorrow or the day after !
