"D eguals R times T" is in fact "Distance equals Rate times Time" which
is also the title of another Pixies song on the same album.
<p>

During the song Black Francis mimics the Perry Mason theme rather ugly
and echoed. Perry Mason was one of the longest (1957-1966) running
courtroom TV series in America with a very recognisable themesong.
